Monday Again

My classes started today! :) I am pretty excited about going back to school! I have done most everything that was assigned for the week! I only have a few things left to do! I feel so productive!

I must vent for a moment, please excuse me.
I love my grandma, I really do. I also greatly appreciate everything she has done for Tommy and myself. However, she is getting on my nerves! She acts like Tommy is there to be her own personal slave! And newsflash, he is NOT! She also expects for us to just do things that 'need' to be done. We are not mind readers, if you want something done you have to speak up! What is really annoying is that before her husband died we had the very same conversation with him! He expected me to just do things the he felt needed to be done, but wouldn't say anything! We told him that it can't be done or wouldn't get done unless he spoke up. Well common sense tells you that the same thing applies to everyone, right? On top of the fact that she is a habitual liar. She will tell me something and when she thinks I'm not listening or paying attention she tells someone something else. She does not care about anyone but herself. She is one of the most self-centered people I know, and I know a LOT of self-centered people.
My step-dad is so mean! He a 100x worse than Oscar the Grouch! I feel so sorry for my younger siblings and my mom. I thought he was just like that to me but being here today after the kids got home from school I can see that nothing has changed. He yelled at me because I didn't use a paper plate, he is yelling at my brother because he cannot focus (he has ADHD and they are trying him on new medicine-which is not working) and my youngest sister for nothing really. (The lucky one is at work) My mom has been thinking that things have changed in the past few months because the kids have stopped complaining about it and here I am to burst her bubble. I feel so bad now! I wish there was something I could do. She has tried over and over again to get him to change and stop, she finally thought it might be starting to take hold, but no. I hate to say it but the situation will change (in my opinion) is for her to leave. She and us kids have put up with this for going on 19 years. :( I really hate that because I'm not one who usually votes for divorce because I think its too common in our society as it is but if he isn't willing to even try then she should stop and realize its a lost cause. Staying could do more damage than good. I'm just not sure she knows that or is able to accept it yet.

I hope everyone has a Happy{er} Monday!

Friday Confessional

I confess . . .
I didn't have the best of time on my trip.
I enjoyed watching my little sister and brother.
They had fun and that is what I was really worried about.

I confess . . .
I am glad that I have the house to myself today.
I can clean or relax. Whichever I choose.
And there is no one here to annoy me.

I confess . . .
I had some pretty weird, vivid dreams last night.
I even woke myself up talking.
I wonder if I do that when Tommy is here?

I confess . . .
I am so ready to get Addison's nursery done.
It is kinda hard because there are some things that don't belong in there and I can't move them.
Tommy has promised he will help me this weekend. Lord, help him if he doesn't!

I confess . . .
I am extremely happy that the direct deposit is now in effect.
Having to wait three days (or more at times) for the paycheck was really annoying!
But NO MORE! :)

I confess . . .
My dog is spoiled.
I don't know what I am going to do with him.
Because sometimes its pretty bad.

I confess . . .
I let him get away with somethings when its just us.
He has been my baby for a year now.
What do you expect?

I confess . . .
I suspect Tommy does too.
He just isn't as apt to admit to it.
Typical.

Some of you were wondering about the Loaded Potato Soup I made. Here is the recipe, please keep in mind there are NO certain amounts: it all depends on you and your taste.

You will need:
A 5lb bag of potatoes, peeled and cubed
Milk (almost a gallon)
Cheese wiz
Shredded cheese (your favorite kind is fine)
Green onions/Spring onions, chopped
Real bacon pieces (you can fry your own and make them or buy them from the store)
Sour cream (I used about 12oz or so but again its up to you)
Salt and pepper to taste
*You can also use bell peppers and other things you like on a loaded baked potato*

Boil your potatoes until that are as soft at you like them.
Drain the water.
Pour milk in with the potatoes until they are covered.
Add your other ingredients.
Be sure to stir frequently, it will stick to the bottom!
Cook until the cheese is melted then serve.

All I ask is that if you decide to pass on the recipe you give credit where credit is due! If you make your own tweaks, please share! I would love to try it!

Happy Friday! :)

Thirty Weeks Today :)

Today I am Thirty Weeks! Here is what is going on this week:

At 30 weeks, your belly’s doing more than just making it tough to find a comfortable sleeping position. It’s made itself a conversation piece. Everywhere you go, someone seems to have a comment about your physical appearance, which isn't always so fun. And no doubt, you’ve encountered quite a few people who don’t think before they speak and say something embarrassing or hurtful (what’s up with that?) Try not to take those comments seriously, but know which ones should be taken to heart. Like when they tell you you’re glowing, believe them! And take advantage of some of the perks (when someone offers you their seat on the train -- take it!) At week 30, your dreams might be getting even weirder -- if you’re actually sleeping, that is. That could be a result of anxiety, so consider doing some prep work to help you rest easier. One idea? Do a test drive to see exactly how long it really takes you to get to the hospital. Then maybe you’ll stop having nightmares about giving birth in your car.

Your baby's the size of a squash!
Your 15.2- to 16.7-inch, 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby continues to grow.

Your baby at 30 weeks
Her skin is getting smoother.
But her brain is getting wrinklier -- to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
She's now strong enough to grasp a finger!

What you might be feeling at 30 weeks:
Heartburn, which might be making sleep hard to come by.
Swelling -- it's totally normal, as long as it's not sudden or severe.
General discomfort, thanks to your big belly.
Shortness of breath. Those lungs just keep getting more crowded, right?
Trouble sleeping, which leads to another issue: Fatigue.
Weird, vivid dreams. One word (a familiar one): Hormones.

Taking a day trip to Tennessee! Hope to have lots of fun!

Happy Wednesday! :)
