Slacker!

I am such a slacker. I got a kid and a job and completely neglected good therapy! What's up with that?

Well, I suppose a little rundown is in order. Addison is 10 1/2 months old! {OMG, time flies!} She loves the lady that keeps her at the daycare, but I don't love her helper. She has had a constant ear infection in her right ear for a while now and I am terrified that she is gonna have to have tubes! :( I am not breastfeeding anymore :( but that is ok {now}, I am just glad I did it in the first place!

I did not finish the X-Factor Work out, I did do 7 weeks though and Weight Watchers. So far I have lost a total of 18.6lbs! :) Let me just say that I LOVE WW! It's so EASY and it WORKS! I just need to get back on the ball! I am signing up for a couple 5k races the Aubrae Gunderson Memorial and Hot Chocolate 15k/5k. So excited!

Addison is going to be a Mummy tomorrow! Her costume is homemade by yours truly! It was super easy and cheap! I bought a white onsie {three really- they came in a pack- but its good to have a backup}, some white stockings, a cream headband, cream tulle, and "Freaky Fabric" from Wal-Mart. The necklace was an afterthought {beads were given to me} and the headband is not pictured. I made the tutu with the tulle and pieces of Freaky Fabric. Tea-dyed the onsie and stockings. Tacked the Freaky Fabric to the onsie, and voila! I cannot wait to see her in it! :) I have gotten a lot of compliments, which makes me feel better about not going out and buying a costume. I will post a pic of the beautiful mummy tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday!

Alive and well!

It has been months since I have gotten on this thing! I do have to say that I miss it very much! Addison is growing so much! She is now seven months old, saying a few words, crawling and pulling up! I did get a job at a daycare, which she also attends. Recently I have started a workout routine. Its the eight week program X-Factor:ST by Weider. Currently I am on my last day of week two. :) I am proud of myself for continuing to do this where as I haven't other times. I know now that I have more of a reason to than anything! I don't want Addison to grow up and be like me, overweight to the point of obesity. I want her to grow up seeing a mom who is fit and healthy. I am also going to start Weight Watchers, today! :)

Just so everyone knows I will try to post at the very least weekly updates on my progress! My starting point was 175lbs (BMI of 34.2). My goal right now is to lose a lb a week for ten weeks. My ultimate goal is to lose almost fifty lbs in order to have a healthy BMI. I am not going to worry about "getting skinny" or getting my old figure back, I just want to be healthy so my daughter will grow up and be healthy also. The exercise part is the easy part! Changing my eating habits is gonna be the hard part, but I can do it! I have a great support system and I know I am gonna need them! :) Care to join me on my journey to healthy living?

* Please note that I am not endorsed or compensated by Weider or Weight Watchers. It is simply the regimes I have chosen for myself. :)

Sorta Nervous

Tommy is going to talk to the recruiter about re-enlisting. I am excited for him and at the same time I am a little nervous. Nothing is certain but today could mark a huge change in our lives. It'll be a good change, just hard. But there wasn't ever anything worth working for that wasn't hard. Gosh, I just can't stand it hardly anymore. I am going to go get him and Addison up and we are going to get started with our day. Wish us luck.

Happy Wednesday!

About Time

Ok, so I really need to get on here more! I miss blogging!
This Friday Addison will be 3 months old! OMG time flies by! She is trying so hard to laugh. She'll coo and sometimes squeal but hasn't quite got the laughing part down yet. It's still cute!
Friday Tommy and I are going out on a date for the first time in forever! I am kinda excited, but I have NO clue what to wear. Its just dinner and a movie- not even a romantic one (Act of Valor) so I wont need anything too dressy but it would be nice to dress up a little for a change. :)
I applied for a few jobs in the school system yesterday. So obviously I am thinking of  going back to work. I want to for a few reasons. The main one being I want to get the heck out of my grandmother's house. I love her to death but I cannot stand to live here much longer. Living with anyone is hard and some people are much harder to live with than others. I have almost considered moving out of state if we could find jobs but at the same time I don't want to move Addison away from family that loves her unless there is no other choice.
Tommy said the other day that he has considered going back into the military but I don't think he means it. He feels so shafted from the way they did him last time I can't really blame him. At the same time I think that could possibly be one of the best decisions we could make. Idk. I don't want to make a decision now that we will regret in the future because we are so anxious to get our own place.
I have worked out for the past two days (hard) and it feels great. I already feel like I have more energy and more motivation. :) Its days like today though that make it hard. Days where I don't have anyone I trust to watch Addison for me. I'll find a way though. I am not going to stop because I need to do this for me and for her. I need to live a healthier lifestyle so she will when she is older.
Time to get off here but I will return! :)

Happy Wednesday!

Time for Change

Looking through and  posting photos today and I realize its time to change the way I do things before its too late. I am already on the verge of  becoming the person I never wanted to be. Lazy and obese, not just fat but obese. I have got to change the way I live my life before I become another statistic. To ensure things change I am going to start an accountability group with specific goals, weekly and daily goals. Geez I have a LOT of work to do! If you have any suggestions please let me know!

Happy Monday!

2 Months 2 Days Ago

Yep, my little girl was 2 months old 2 days ago! Omg! Time goes by so fast! Poor thing had to get her shots yesterday too. :( She cried so hard and loud, Tommy and I both cried too. She didn't really feel too good afterwards and who could blame her? She has been really sleepy today too. :( I wish there was a way for me to make her feel better. We ended up staying at my mom's last night. Oops. Oh well, I was gonna have to come back over here anyway. So I have a baby shower to go to next weekend and I'm not entirely sure what to get her. There is so much that is useful when you have a newborn that I honestly cannot decide. . . . I think I'm going to give her a fully equipped diaper bag. One that comes with a changing pad and I'll put diapers, wipes and other essentials in it. :) Then again I know that is a popular choice when it comes to baby showers to maybe a 'goody bag' with Gripe Water and gas drops and stuff in it. :) What do you think???

Friday Confessional

I confess . . .
Money sucks.
It causes problems between people when there is no need.
Problems suck too.

I confess . . .
I have no clue what to do for Tommy this Valentine's Day.
He will be working.
Any ideas?

I confess . . .
He told me last night he wanted to take me out this weekend because he is working.
But that was after we got into an argument.
I don't think he wants to anymore.

I confess . . .
I have about 4 weeks of school work to catch up on by Sunday.
Its not my fault I didn't have my book.
So I will be spending most of my days nose deep in Literature.

I confess . . .
I don't need my Spanish book.
I do just fine without it.
I needed the website code though so I had to get it.

I confess . . .
I have strep throat.
The doctor told me not to kiss Addison.
That is seriously the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do in my LIFE.

I confess . . .
There is so much I need to be getting done.
I just don't feel like it.
Is that bad?

I confess . . .
Getting ready for the Atlanta Race for the Cure again.
My mom and I are excited.
I have a lot of conditioning to do before then.

I hope everyone has a happy Friday and great weekend.

Laundry . . .

is most definitely on the top of my list today! Addison has done everything but pee on me (so far) today. She has spit up on almost all of her clothes in the past two days and even managed to come out of the diaper once. :( Having a limited amount of clothes is the only thing I don't like about staying at my mom's. Its a really small thing to complain about, I have to do laundry anyway I just wanted to wait until tomorrow and get it all done in one whack. She apparently has other plans for me. Lol.
I am so proud of myself! I walked a mile last night and have done half a mile today. I plan on going and doing the other half later with some company (or at least someone to watch Addison for a little bit). Now that I have been cleared by my doctor I am ready to get back into shape and get ready for the Susan G. Komen Atlanta Race for the Cure. My mom and I did it last year for Mother's Day and had a blast. I believe we are going to make it a tradition. I am hoping that we can beat our time from last year, so I have to get started. I'm honestly excited. I couldn't wait to start exercising again. I'm weird I know. :)
Its hard to believe its been six weeks. It goes by so fast. And she has grown so much. She went from this:

To this in just 3 weeks.

And this in just 3 more.

What am I gonna do?

Oh well, she is getting hungry so I gotta go!
Happy Saturday!

Friday Confessional

I confess . . .
I love being a mom!
It is the best feeling in the world!
My little girl's gummy grin always makes my day!

I confess . . .
Its because of her that we are looking to find somewhere else to live.
I am not comfortable with the way things are going at my house right now.
I should  be able to be comfortable in my own home.

I confess . . .
I am having more issues with my grandmother by the day.
I thought we had everything worked out.
Apparently I was wrong.

I confess . . .
Tommy and I have been staying at my mom's.
Sleeping on the couches.
Just so we don't have to put up with my grandmother and her creepy boyfriend.

I confess . . .
I don't mind her having a boyfriend.
I just don't like this guy.
He is creepy and rude.

I confess . . .
It worries me that she is bringing this man into our home because . . .
She has only known him for 3 months and
She met him off the internet.

I confess . . .
I'll be friends with someone online
But I will not go out and meet them, and def won't take them to my house!
They could be a pedophile or psycho!

I confess . . .
I am shocked she hasn't thought of this.
She has worked in law enforcement for over 20 years.
Kinda makes you wonder huh?

I confess . . .
I really don't know whats up with her lately.
She is being rude and demanding.
She is def not the woman she once was.

I confess . . .
I don't mind doing the cleaning and cooking around the house.
I do however mind being demanded to do such on her schedule.
I am a mom and a student. My daughter comes first, then my studies, then the rest of the stuff.

I confess . . .
I have a feeling when we leave its gonna be ugly.
We stayed because she asked us to.
But when she know how that guy makes me feel and she is still willing to bring him into my home (with myself and my newborn daughter, without Tommy) its crossing the line.

I confess . . .
I feel like she has chosen this guy over family.
The sad thing?
I'm not the only one who thinks that.

I confess . . .
We are all shocked at her actions.
She is acting like a careless teenager with raging hormones.
Not a responsible great-grandmother who had a hysterectomy 40 years ago.

I confess . . .
My younger sister is more responsible than my grandmother.
It makes us all uncomfortable.
My mom is pissed at my grandmother for acting this way- so am I.

I confess . . .
I thought you were supposed to get wiser with age.
Not dumber.
Apparently I was wrong.

I confess . . .
It feels good to be blogging again.
I really should take time each day to write a little something on here.
Even if its just talking about Addison.

Hope every one has a Happy Friday!

Courageous

That movie was amazing! Being a new mom it really hit me (even though it was made for dads)!
I'd like for Tommy (and myself) to sigh the Resolution! It would be a wonderful thing to have in our home!
These guys are just amazing! They make the best movies with some of the best story lines! I'd love to go to their church just once! If it were possible (and I liked the church enough) I'd even consider moving down there! I really think those guys have a real good handle on life and what it means to serve God!

Addison is doing so well! She makes me smile like nothing else! Breastfeeding has been a wonderful experience! I encourage every woman to try it! Its a wonderful feeling knowing you are giving your child the nutrients they need! It also connects us on a whole new level!

Going for my 6 week post-partum checkup Tuesday. I'm getting the Mirena again. I'm kinda excited, I guess thats the word. Lol. No more kiddos for five years, unless we decide otherwise.

How are things with everyone else?

One Month

Today my baby girl is one month! Its a happy and sad day! I am excited to watch her grow but at the same time I am sad that the time has gone by so fast!
Last night she slept for almost the entire night! She is holding her head up on her own so well! She is such a great baby! I love her so much!
I have so many ideas for when she gets a little older! Crafts and things and birthday ideas! Its all so exciting!
I'm doing pretty good too. I am down to less than 10 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight. I am not really sure how much I weighed but I know around and I am definitely with in 10lbs of that. :) I am hoping to start doing some sort of exercise soon (still waiting on doctor approval). I am totally determined to get into shape and eat better now that she is here so I can be the best role model I can be!
I am doing the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure again this year! I think my mom and I are going to make a tradition out of it! (I'd love that because its always the day before Mother's Day!) I'd like to take Addison too but I think she may be too small this year. We'll have to see. I really need to start my fundraising!
Had a pretty good weekend here at my mom's being away from my grandmother and her creepy boyfriend. I got to go shopping and spend some time with my brother and sisters, it was totally worth it. I am dreading going home to my dogs though. I feel guilty we had to leave them but my mom's dog and ours just don't get along. I don't even want to think about how things would turn out with my sister's dog, he hasn't met mine yet.
We need to make a trip to the grocery store too. Fun- not! I hate grocery shopping! But its gotta be done.
Guess I'm gonna get started with my day. Finally lol.

Long Overdue Update

So I haven't disappeared, I have just been really busy lately. I did go in for my induction on the 14 of December. However, due to complications I had to have a c-section. Addison was born on the 16 of December. She is the most perfect thing ever! I love her so much! Everything is great now, I am getting the hang of being a mom and I am healing well. Breastfeeding is going great for the both of us! :) I am super happy because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to for one reason or another. I am continuing my online classes, hopefully I won't be too over loaded. I am doing my best to get a schedule going, so far its not really working but I will continue to try. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Thirty Nine Weeks Today :)

Today I am Thirty Nine weeks! Here is what is happening this week courtesy of What To Expect!

Your Baby in Week 39 of Pregnancy

Coming down to the wire, your baby weighs around seven to eight pounds and measures 19 to 21 inches. Those measurements won't change much from now on, but her brain is still growing at an astonishing rate, a pace that will continue for the first three years of life. Her pink skin has now turned whitish (even babies who'll eventually have darker skin appear whitish now — they haven't yet developed pigment). Her head may have dropped into your pelvis by now, which makes your breathing easier but walking harder.

Your Body in Week 39 of Pregnancy

The end (and a whole new beginning!) is in sight, so watch for the signs that your body is ready to get the show on the road. These include Braxton Hicks contractions; the rupture of the membranes (water breaking) that contain your amniotic fluid; the loss of the mucous plug (the “cork” of mucus that seals the opening of the uterus); and the bloody show (your capillaries rupture from the dilation and effacement of your cervix, causing any discharge to appear pink or red-tinged). Labor could be close (but no cigar — yet!).

Week 39 Pregnancy Symptoms

More frequent Braxton Hicks contractions: If you’ve been experiencing these practice contractions, they may be getting stronger now. But if you haven’t had a contraction yet, don’t worry. Braxton Hicks contractions are more common in second (and subsequent) pregnancies.
Slowdown in fetal activity: As her living quarters become more cramped, you may notice a slowdown in fetal movement. Your baby’s coordination has improved and he’s less likely to make involuntary jabs (even if he had the room).
Heartburn or indigestion: Your heartburn may be at its peak now. Don’t worry, relief is around the corner when you deliver. For relief now, drink liquids before or after meals instead of during.
Bloody show or loss of mucous plug: The discharge from your vagina might be tinged with blood (either pinkish or brownish) as the blood vessels in the cervix rupture. Don’t worry — it’s a sign that your cervix is dilating, or opening up, and that’s a good thing. Another event that may occur this week: The mucous plug may fall out (and into the toilet). Losing it isn’t a sign that childbirth is hours away, but it does mean it’s around the corner.
Rupture of membranes (possibly): Another sign that labor may be near — if your amniotic sac breaks and gushes out fluid. But don’t worry about causing a flood while you’re standing in the grocery checkout line. Despite what you’ve seen in movies, most women are in labor (and in the hospital) by the time their water breaks. If yours does break, call your practitioner.
Diarrhea or nausea: As your body gets ready for childbirth, the muscles may loosen in your rectum, resulting in loose bowel movements. You may also suffer some nausea. It’s important to keep drinking water to avoid dehydration.
Hemorrhoids: If you’re experiencing diarrhea, your hemorrhoids may actually be less painful now since you’re not straining to move your bowels the way you did when you were constipated. Just be aware that pushing during labor can aggravate hemorrhoids, so stock up on all the soothers that brought you relief.
Pelvic pressure and discomfort: Your baby’s head is putting pressure on your pelvis, making you feel uncomfortable. Other symptoms of discomfort could include menstrual-like cramps and indigestion, which can also be signs of early contractions.
Backaches: Your backaches could be worse now as you count down the final weeks. You can soothe a sore back by getting into the shower and letting the warm water pulse onto your back.

Going into the hospital tonight to induce! Wish me luck! I'll prob be outta touch for a while! :)

Thirty Eight Weeks :)

Today I am Thirty Eight Weeks! Here is what is going on this week courtesy of What To Expect.

Week 38 of Pregnancy

Your baby is producing surfactant, which will help him take those first breaths while you're producing colostrum, the precursor to breast milk.

Your Baby in Week 38 of Pregnancy

Hey, your little one isn't so little anymore, weighing close to seven pounds and measuring 20 inches long. Fetal development is nearly complete as your baby tends to a few last-minute details like shedding the skin-protecting vernix and lanugo. He's also producing more surfactant, a substance that prevents the air sacs in his lungs from sticking to one another once he starts to breathe. Most of the changes this week are small but important: He’s continuing to add fat (so he can take advantage of all those photo ops by sporting a round, cute baby look!) and fine-tuning his brain and nervous system (so he can deal with all the stimulation that awaits him once he makes his entrance into the world).

Your Body in Week 38 of Pregnancy

Just as your baby is preparing for life outside the womb, your body is tending to its own final touches before the big day, one of which is getting that milk machine up and running. Part of the process is producing colostrums, a thin yellowish liquid that's the precursor to breast milk. Colostrum is full of antibodies that protect your newborn, and it has more protein and less fat and milk sugar (the better to digest it) than the breast milk that arrives later. Chances are you're leaking colostrum so you might want to break out those nursing pads now. If you're not leaking but you are curious about this miracle substance, you can gently squeeze your areola to express a few drops.

Week 38 Pregnancy Symptoms

More frequent urination: If you’re going to the bathroom a lot these days, it’s likely that your baby’s head is in your pelvis, and it’s making less room for your bladder. You may want to skip caffeine and any other diuretic drinks now. Just don’t skip liquids altogether — you need fluids now so you can stay hydrated as you get closer to delivering.
Increased vaginal discharge: You may be experiencing more discharge now, and you may even pass the mucous plug — a clear glob of mucus that’s been corking your cervix throughout your pregnancy — as your cervix dilates. Does this mean that labor is imminent? Maybe. But it could be days, or even weeks, away.
Bloody show: The vaginal discharge can also be tinged a pinkish or brownish color as the blood vessels in the cervix rupture during dilation and effacement. Once your underwear (or toilet paper) is tinged pink or brown, it could mean that you’ll be face-to-face with your baby sooner rather than later.
Diarrhea: Loose bowel movements are nature’s way to make enough room for the baby to emerge, so if you’re having diarrhea this week it may mean that labor is imminent (yay!). Drink lots of water and eat lightly — broth, toast, and iced fruit pops are the way to go now. Skip fatty foods or anything that’s fiber-rich.
Itchy abdomen: One way to soothe an itchy belly? Slather on the vitamin E oil. In fact, you might want to stock up on an extra bottle of vitamin E capsules — it’s also great for sore nipples, which are in your near future if you’re planning to breastfeed.
Increased swelling of ankles and feet: If swollen ankles and feet are getting you down, now’s the time for some support — hose, that is. Make sure the tops aren’t too tight if you’re going for knee- or thigh-high hose. Put them on in the morning before the daily swelling starts.
Difficulty sleeping: Your mind is racing so much you can’t sleep. Don’t turn on the computer to get on the message boards or search for info on labor and delivery. That will just keep you up longer when you do go to bed. Instead, grab something low-tech &mdsh; a book or a magazine — and read for a bit. That will soothe you to sleep faster.
Fatigue or extra energy: A change in energy levels is pretty common this week. You may be increasingly exhausted or you may get a burst of energy (also known as the nesting instinct) as you try to organize and clean the house before the baby comes. Go ahead and clean, but don’t wear yourself out. Save that energy for childbirth instead of squandering it on a clean closet.
Enlarged breasts and colostrum: Your breasts may be bigger than they’ve ever been (though they will get even bigger!) and leaking colostrum. If they’re not leaky or bigger, don’t worry. Neither is a sign that you’ll have difficulty breastfeeding (if that’s what you plan to do).
Braxton Hicks contractions: These practice contractions may be getting more intense now. This is a good time to practice your breathing and visualization techniques. If your partner is around, make him practice along.

Out of Touch

Sorry I have been out of touch for a little while. I have been super busy with Christmas decorating and finals.
I am FINALLY done with my finals! :)
Now I can concentrate on getting things ready for Addison and not stressing that she will come before and cause me to fail. (My GPA couldn't take that!) :)
So far I have the bassinet in our room and all the preemie clothes along with sleepers and a full changing station.
Still not sure how I am going to manage to organize the swaddling blankets, spitup/ burp cloths and the bassinet sheets but I'm working on it. That is my project for tonight and tomorrow.
I really need a reason to get out of the house for the next two days. I am thinking about going to Burlington but that leaves one day for me to do nothing. :( Any ideas??

Happy Tuesday!

Thirty Seven Weeks :)

Today I am Thirty Seven Weeks! Here is what is going on this week courtesy of What To Expect.

Week 37 of Pregnancy
Your doctor may check for labor signs, while your baby prepares for birth by sucking, turning, and breathing in the womb.

Your Baby in Week 37 of Pregnancy
Congratulations! You've got what is officially considered a full-term baby, even with three weeks to go. That doesn't mean he's finished growing — in fact, he's still packing on about a half pound a week (at this age, the average fetus weighs about 6.5 pounds). That makes it a little crowded in your uterus, so he’s probably not kicking as much, though he’s probably stretching, rolling a bit, and wiggling (all of which you’ll be able to feel!). Right now, your little superstar is busy rehearsing for his big debut, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking his thumb (to prepare for that first suckle of milk), blinking, and turning from side to side.

Your Body in Week 37 of Pregnancy
Your body is going through its own preparations for childbirth as your practitioner starts looking for signs of labor. On the checklist: the baby's position in relation to your pelvis (engagement) and whether effacement (thinning of the cervix) and dilation (opening of the cervix) have begun. Your practitioner may also determine whether your cervix has begun to soften and move to the front of the vagina, another indication that labor is getting closer. Keep in mind that these processes can occur gradually (over a period of weeks or even a month or more in some women) or overnight. So while they're clues that you're indeed progressing, they're far from sure bets when it comes to pinpointing the actual start of labor.

Week 37 Pregnancy Symptoms
Changes in fetal activity: By the time your baby’s head is engaged in your pelvis, he’ll have a lot less room for any more than a twist or squirm. What’s important is that you feel some movement every day. Remember, though, that your baby is behaving like a newborn now and has interludes of deep sleep, when he barely moves at all.

Heartburn or indigestion: If your heartburn is getting worse these days, try eating a handful of almonds. Other home remedies that may banish the burn: a tablespoon of honey in warm milk or some dried papaya.

Cervical dilation or effacement: To get ready for labor, your cervix will dilate (open up) and efface (get thinner). For some women, the two take place gradually, over a period of weeks or months. Others can efface and dilate overnight. You won’t be able to feel it, but your practitioner will be able to tell during an internal exam.

Bloody show: A pink- or brown-tinged mucus discharge means that the blood vessels in the cervix are rupturing as the cervix dilates in preparation for labor and delivery (it won’t be long now!).

Varicose veins: If the veins in your legs are acting up now, try sleeping on your left side, which is the best position for optimum circulation. Also try elevating your legs by putting a pillow under your feet. Both positions will keep the blood flowing.

Pelvic pressure and discomfort: If your baby’s head is pressing into your pelvis, hips, and bladder, you’ll feel more pressure as the week wears on. If you feel really uncomfortable, invest in a belly sling that will support the weight of your belly and take pressure off your back (see below) and pelvis.

Leg cramps: If leg cramps are making a misery of your nights, try drinking more fluids during the day and make sure you’re eating enough calcium (those almonds you’re munching for the heartburn come in handy again!) and magnesium. All three can help with leg cramps.

Stretch marks: With your boobs and belly (and possibly butt) as big as they’ve ever been, you’ve probably noticed those classic marks of maternity by now. Don’t worry, they’ll fade into silvery lines and turn into a badge of pride (or at least motherhood!) a few months after childbirth.

Protruding parts: Your innie probably became an outie weeks ago, but you may notice that your nipples are also popping now — all the better for a newborn to latch on when nursing.

Forgetfulness: There are so many things to keep track of now (Is the camera charged and packed? Do you have a baby outfit washed and ready to bring to the hospital? How many dinners are stocked in the freezer?) that it’s no wonder you’re walking around in a fog. Post reminders around the house and on your computer so you won’t forget appointments.

Difficulty sleeping: You’ve heard that pregnancy insomnia is Mother Nature’s way to prepare you for the sleepless nights ahead, but try to squeeze in some shut-eye so you have enough energy for childbirth and beyond. Sleep in a little longer, nap when you come home after work or on weekends, and give yourself a relaxing routine when it’s time for bed.

Thanksgiving Week

Was CRAZY!
I am so glad it is over! I was dreading the week but I had no idea it would be as bad as it was!
I'm not going to go into detail because it would take WAY too long to explain everything! However, I will say that 90% of my frustration comes from my grandmother and 5% comes from other family members. The other 5% comes from the everyday stuff I had to deal with on top of the holiday bs!

Tommy has a doctor's appointment tomorrow! :( My sister accidentally hit him in his man area (really hard) with a tennis ball and he has been having some problems. He went to the doctor Monday (and stayed out of work- a FIRST)  and they referred him to the ultrasound people. We have to be there at 10 in the morning. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous at what could be wrong. I haven't voiced my worries to him though, I figure its best to keep that to myself- at least for the moment.

I am reading Inheritance! OMG, I have waited so long for this book to come out and now I am kinda sad it has. It is the ending to the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Bittersweet. I am not done yet but I'm getting close.

I am almost completely done with my schoolwork for the week! I did 97{ish}% of it today. I have all the quizzes to do before Saturday. I figured 22 things was good enough for one day. :)

Happy Tuesday!

Thirty Six Weeks (Last Wednesday!)

Last Wednesday I was 36 weeks, here is what happened last week courtesy of What To Expect.

Week 36 of Pregnancy

Your baby's bones may be ready to rock and roll, but yours may be aching something awful right now.

Your Baby in Week 36 of Pregnancy

Forget your aching back (and everything else!) by trying to focus on your baby, who is now about six pounds and 20 inches long, with soft bones and cartilage to allow a safer journey through the exit door. Most of her systems (from circulatory to musculoskeletal) are ready for prime time, though her digestion system — which has done only practice runs so far — will kick into gear as she takes her first suckle at the breast or bottle.

Your Body in Week 36 of Pregnancy

It's a good thing your baby's almost done cooking, since your body may feel pretty "done" by now as well. For one thing, you're doing the full-term pregnancy waddle, the result of the hormone-triggered loosening and softening of your connective tissue. This is your body's way of getting ready to squeeze a big baby out of a small space. Unfortunately, those loose joints can lead to some pretty serious hip and pelvic pain — but hang in there!

Week 36 Pregnancy Symptoms

Changes in fetal activity: As your baby’s quarters get more cramped and she has less room to maneuver, expect her movements to change too. You should still feel her moving, but there will be less jabbing and kicking, and a lot more squirming.
Heartburn or indigestion: As your stomach gets pushed up and squeezed by your uterus, you may feel like eating less at mealtimes. That’s not necessarily bad news. Smaller meals are better for your digestive system and may actually control heartburn.
Flatulence: As if heartburn weren’t enough, you’re probably passing gas and burping like a frat boy. This too shall pass (pun intended). In the meantime, go for smaller meals (which will help the heartburn) and try not to rush while eating (you’ll swallow more air).
Constipation: If it’s getting worse, blame your belly again (a convenient scapegoat!). The same mini-meals that will help ease heartburn and flatulence are also a good way to counteract constipation — and for the same reason. They won’t tax your digestive tract as much.
More frequent urination: Your baby might have dropped into your pelvis by now, crowding your bladder. So it’s no wonder you’re going to the bathroom as much as you did during your first two months of pregnancy. Don’t cut back on liquids — your body needs fluids to stay hydrated now more than ever.
Increased vaginal discharge, possibly tinged with blood: The discharge from your vagina may be increasing and getting thicker. Don’t be shocked if you notice the mucus is pinkish, red, or brownish after you’ve had sex or a vaginal examination. That just means that your cervix, which is sensitive now and may be starting to dilate, has been bruised.
Pelvic pressure and discomfort: Feeling pretty heavy down there in the pelvic region? That’s your baby burrowing deep into the pelvis as she prepares for birth, with her head pressing down on your bladder, hips, and pelvis. Try some pelvic tilts, or take a (long) soak in the tub to give yourself a break.
Itchy abdomen: Your belly might be stretched to the breaking point (or at least feel that way). Creams containing cocoa butter or vitamin E can soothe that itchy abdomen and bring some relief. (Better still, get your partner to rub it on your belly and do some bonding with the baby underneath!)
Increased swelling of ankles and feet: Edema (pregnancy swelling) may be getting more noticeable now as your body retains more fluids. So not only will your ankles and feet be swollen, but your face and hands (and fingers) may be too. Keep drinking water and other liquids. All those fluids will help rid your system of excess sodium and other waste products, which will minimize swelling.
Difficulty sleeping: Sleep may be more elusive than ever as you toss this way and that looking for the perfect position. Make sure your room isn’t too stuffy (you’re sure to feel overheated as the night wears on) by opening a window or lowering the thermostat.
Fatigue or extra energy: It’s normal to be tired by the time you hit week 36. But you may also get the burst of extra energy known as the nesting instinct — a need to get organized and ready for the baby. If you do feel energized, take breaks to rest and eat.
